Job Description: New construction of twin-towered office complex to house the world headquarters of Discovery Communication
Features: Extensive electrical project included the installation of new electrical service, power distribution system, lighting and special systems.
Points of Interest:

Unique lighting features using the Barton Multimedia Lighting Control System

  • washes a wall of the building with colored light, one color fading into the next
  • intelligent lighting control for normal and emergency lights for entire complex
  • remote access to system
  • controls all lighting scenes

 

Rooftop 1750 Kw generator with 5 Automatic Transfer Switches

VarcoMac received the 2004 Washington Building Congress’s Craftsmanship Award for its electrical construction and design on this project.
