Accounts Receivable Specialist

Responsibilities:


    Manage the entire accounts receivable process, including invoicing, collections, and reporting.
    Monitor accounts for overdue balances and initiate collection efforts as necessary.


    Collaborate with project managers to resolve billing discrepancies or issues.


    Process and manage incoming payments, ensuring accurate allocation to customer accounts.


    Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.


    Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable status, aging, and collection efforts for management review.


    Prepare monthly work order invoices – coordinate with account managers to produce invoices in a timely manner.


    Review unbilled work orders to determine appropriate action.


    Support the development and implementation of policies and procedures.


    Assist with month-end closing activities and year-end audits related to accounts receivable.


    Perform ad hoc projects.

Requirements and Skills: 


    Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.


    1-3 years proven experience in accounts receivable or a related financial role. Experience in the construction or manufacturing industry is a plus.


    Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving issues.


    Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.


    Proficient in MS excel, including VLOOKUP’s and pivot tables.


    Knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including GAAP.


    Produce timely and accurate accounting reports.
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers and internal team.


    Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

This position would require someone to be in the office in Odenton, MD 5 days a week. No sponsorship is available for this position.
