Position Overview
VarcoMac is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Clerk to support the warehouse and operations team. This person is responsible for managing the flow of incoming and outgoing materials with a focus on accuracy, safety, and efficiency.  They will handle inventory transactions, shipment coordination, and warehouse organization.  The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is accountable for accurate documentation, inventory integrity, and timely deliveries.  The person works closely with internal teams, drivers, vendors, and carriers to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate shipment schedules and delivery priorities with internal teams.
  • Provide updates on shipment status, delays, and discrepancies.
  • Serve as a contact for shipping, receiving, and inventory inquiries.
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders.
  • Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging and labeling
  • Enter and maintain accurate data in inventory and tracking systems.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of materials following company guidelines.
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff and drivers for efficient material handling.
  • Communicate with vendors, suppliers, and carriers regarding shipments.
  • Support internal material requests and ensure timely fulfillment.
  • Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory records.
  • Document and report damaged, missing, or incorrect shipments.
  • Communicate daily priorities and updates with team members.
  • Support team efficiency and adherence to processes.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Education & Credentials
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain) preferred.
  • Experience
    • 1+ years of experience in warehouse, shipping/receiving, or logistics preferred.
    • Experience with inventory systems or shipping software is a plus.
  • Technical & Professional Skills
    • Knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory control procedures.
    • Ability to safely operate forklifts and warehouse equipment.
    • Basic computer skills, including inventory systems and Microsoft Office.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Role may involve physical activity (lifting, loading/unloading, standing).
  • Work performed in a warehouse environment.
  • Additional duties may be assigned to support team and operational goals.
  • There is no sponsorship available for this position. 
  • Salary Range: $28.00-$29.00 per hour
